Father’s Day What Am I Doing Wrong Now?
Hope you can be with us this Sunday in person, or to review the sermon on-line next week.
Had a man tell me he was a bit uncomfortable on Fathers Day; not because he did not want to be a good father, but that the message did not hit the spot for him. Already exhausted from trying to figure out the best way to be a father, he gets more tips and techniques that just add to the load. The “do this, and do that list ” did not seem “doable” at all. He needed a new vision and new power to fulfill his role as father.
If you saw the movie, “Saving Private Ryan” you remember how discouraged the men eventually became, and how they barely had a reason to continue. They needed clarity on the original purpose for which they were send, and a fresh appreciation of the value of their part in the mission. They could not continue long on emotion; they needed something to shake their minds and hearts to the core. It came when they freed the POW camp.
We want to talk about getting your heart back. We want to talk about clarity and power in our purpose as men. We could just talk about better, faster, and do more, more, more; but I think it is in another area God is leading us. Come and be with us. Jimmy Petty
