RESURRECTION SUNDAY APRIL 21. 2019
RESURRECTION SERVICE APRIL 21, 2019
Only the one service that day – 10:45 A.M.
(No Sunday School or Sunrise Service)
I would like to invite you to our Resurrection Service on April 21, 2019. We have a few special things planned, but it will be the unplanned things that will mark the day. For one thing, I believe you will be able to fully understand the meaning of the message and will see an immediate application to your life.
Sometimes the message gets lost in the event of a special church worship service like this. At my second Easter service, after I became a Christian, I was very happy to see one of my brothers there. I was excited that he might really understand the message.
The preacher did a sermon about hypocrisy on Easter, using Isaiah 1 as his text, hoping to get a few backsliders in church by guilt. He never got to the one passage that could have helped;
Isaiah 1:18.
” Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, ” Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” I would have liked to have heard the truth of that verse, and God’s reasoning and actions to make it a reality for my brother and others.
The choir sang. Could not understand a word of it. I ask my brother later and he said as much. I ask if he understood the sermon and he said no. Now before you get your nickers in a twist, it was not just the lost condition of my kin, it was clearly all the lingo used that few can really explain. Wouldn’t you like, just once, for someone to stop and ask, right in the middle of a service, ” So what does that mean? I am not getting this at all !”
I am praying that this could be a service you could bring your friends to, and they say at the end,” I understood that, and I know what I need to do.”
I pray the unplanned things of God can be noticed, as they see your love for God shine through. What if we came with real expectation?
Jesus coming back from the dead into a new and different life is our only hope. I pray for everybody in our church family to come that day. Just a time to reflect upon the clearest historical event that rocked this world and made sense of it.
All the “ultimate meaning” questions are answered in that resurrection of Jesus Christ. Who am I? What am I here for? What is my final destiny? All these things and more are answered by the resurrection event. Come and find out the proof of the resurrection and the current experience of knowing Christ is alive and can live in you.
