SHARP POINTY THINGS: Christians and the Question of Self-Defense

SHARP POINTY THINGS: Christians and the Question of Self-Defense

God and Guns: What the Bible Says About Self-Defense

What is Christian about self-defense? Does God allow us to use force to protect ourselves and others? If so, how much force can we use? These are topics that

are coming up a lot in discussions, and those discussions have polarized much of our Christian fellowships. On Tuesday night, we tackle the controvertial

issue of Christians and self-defense. Join us Tuesday night at 6:30pm.  JK.

SHARP POINTY THINGS: MEN OF ACTION!

10 Overlooked Truths About Taking Action

I came across this article about the importance of taking action….even if you don’t have a plan or a goal. At first, the advice seems insane. But, as I read further, I understood the point the author was trying to make. In fact, I could even think of some instances in the Bible where God called men to action without entrusting them with a plan, a goal, or even any assurance that  they would survive it. God asked those men to do one thing….ACT. And, in each case, those actions became the deeds that we still discuss today.

On Tuesday night, 6:30pm, we’ll discuss the times that each of us has stepped up and taken action….and how those actions have shaped our lives to this day. We’ll also discuss the importance of taking action in our lives and how we sometimes have to overcome the tendency for inaction. Join us at TBC….and ACT NOW!

SHARP, POINTY THINGS (Men’s Group): Gray Man vs. Peacock: How Much Do You Stand Out?

SHARP, POINTY THINGS (Men’s Group): Gray Man vs. Peacock: How Much Do You Stand Out?

One of my Facebook friends posted this article about becoming a “Gray Man”….a person who blends so well into their surroundings that they don’t stand out at all. While the concept is useful for self-defense (the focus of the article), it caused me to think about how people tend to become “Gray Men” when it comes to faith in God. It also got me to think of how the other extreme is possible....people who show off their faith in over-the-top ways that can’t be ignored (hence, the Peacock label). On Tuesday night, we’re going to discuss this. How do you integrate your faith into your daily life? Are you a Gray Man, a Peacock, or something in between? And what does God have to say about these things?

Join us Tuesday night, 6:30pm, at Teague Bible Church to discuss and learn.

In Plain Sight: The Gray Man
